Non-standard baggage

  1. Oversized baggage

We understand that not all of your belongings will fit in the suitcase, however, if you bring large checked baggage, we will charge an oversized item handling fee.

Oversized items will be included in the total weight of checked baggage, so make sure you buy enough checked baggage.

If your oversized item is for medical reasons, or you are carrying a stroller or other items with your baby or small children, it will not count towards your weight delivery and you will not be charged for oversized baggage. See below for details.

An oversized item handling fee is charged for any item with an edge longer than from 158cm/62in to 203cm/80in, including wheels, handles and packaging.

You will need to pay for handling excess baggage for sports equipment, such as surfboards, snowboards, fishing rods and golf bags, bicycles, large musical instruments and other large items such as paintings, statues, televisions and furniture if they have any side longer from 158cm/62in to 203cm/80in. Oversized assistive devices, mobility aids, medical equipment and infant items can be checked in for free.

2. Oversized baggage fee

The oversized baggage fee is a separate handling fee that applies to all items with an edge longer than from 158cm/62in to 203cm/80in. The oversized item fee does not apply to assistive devices, mobility aids, medical equipment and oversized items for babies.

If you decide to bring oversized baggage, you must pay a fee for each item, per flight. Each passenger can carry a maximum of two oversized baggage.

If you need to bring special baggage, passengers need to contact the ticket offices at least 24 hours before departure.

3. Pay for oversized baggage fees

The easiest way to pay for an oversized item is to add it to the ticket price when you buy checked baggage in your reservation.

You can also pay the oversized baggage fee after making a reservation, at the Manage my booking or via the Customer Service Center.

The oversized item fee does not apply to oversized assistive devices, mobility aids, medical equipment and infant items.

The maximum length of any oversized item depends on the type of aircraft. You can find the type of aircraft you are planning to fly when you book, on the select flight page – just open the detailed link in the flight list. The aircraft type is also listed in the itinerary. If your trip includes many flights and different types of aircraft, the maximum length will be applied.
